Adrianne Palicki would love to play Wonder Woman in the rumoured 'Jusitce League' movie and would agree in a "heartbeat" after playing the iconic character in a failed TV pilot.

Adrianne Palicki would play Wonder Woman in 'Justice League' in a "heartbeat".

The 'G.I. Joe: Retaliation' actress portrayed the lasso-wielding femme fatale in a failed TV pilot in 2011 and although the show wasn't commissioned for a full series, she would love to reprise the role for Warner Bros.' hotly rumoured 'Justice League' movie, which is reportedly scheduled for release in 2015.

Speaking at the 'G.I. Joe' premiere in London's Leicester Square on Monday, she revealed to BANG Showbiz exclusively: "If they wanted me, I would absolutely do it in a heartbeat."

The 'Red Dawn' beauty admitted she was "devastated" when the proposed 'Wonder Woman' series - which was written by David E. Kelley and also starred British actress Elizabeth Hurley as the superhero's arch nemesis - was axed after she filmed a pilot episode.

She said: "I was devastated. We shot it and it was amazing. I got to wear the uniform, I got to wear the outfit, and it didn't go. I was completely devastated about it."

Although she ultimately didn't get to fight crime as Wonder Woman, Palicki plays another strong female character in 'G.I. Joe: Retaliation', and she revelled in the experience of playing an action heroine.

She said: "I think it's just awesome [to play an ass-kicking female] because we don't have a lot of them left anymore. We don't have a lot of those women in Hollywood. Those roles aren't being written. So to play such a cool character, and also that they didn't put her in spandex or leather. They put her in fatigues and a ponytail. I just thought she was such a kick-ass character."
