HAVING read the letter from Dale Edwards (“My postal woes”, February 6), I felt compelled to write.

A Christmas card clearly addressed to someone in Leyburn came through my letter box three times.

On the first occasion, in December, I marked it as having been delivered to the wrong address and put it in my local mail box.

On the second occasion, several days later, I marked it as having been wrongly delivered twice, highlighted “Leyburn” and the postcode, and re-posted it.

In mid January, I returned from holiday to find the card had been delivered to me yet again. This time I marked it as having been wrongly delivered three times, circled the town and postcode and drew a large black arrow pointing to these details.

I have not seen it again and sincerely hope it arrived at the correct destination – although much too late for Christmas.

You won’t believe it (or maybe you will) but exactly the same thing happened last December, involving the same address. Has Royal Mail employed incompetents or is its system flawed? To ensure you received my comments, I opted to send this letter by email.

Come on, Royal Mail, pull your socks up.
