WHILE the majority vote by MPs in favour of gay marriage was an important and civilised step towards combating prejudice, there are far more important issues to be addressed.

For example, there is the disgraceful, derisory and callous attitude of the Coalition Government towards the ill and disabled.

The Work Capability Assessment (WCA) is seriously flawed, and rather than address this the Coalition has merely made the appeal procedure even more difficult than it already was.

It is rumoured that the WCA has even found Richard III “fit for work”.
