A YORK wedding photography business has won almost £10,000 in prizes after being named Photography Business Of The Year.
Dominic Wright Photography received the accolade at the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers Awards, also receiving a bespoke business programme from Aspire Photography Training, an open pass for the society’s convention in January, and a showcase of their work in Professional Photographer magazine.
Husband and wife team Zoë and Dominic both worked in advertising, on fashion shoots, until they decided two years ago to set up the business, based off Bootham.
Zoë said: “It has been a complete shock. It’s an absolutely huge thing to win. We now have an awful lot ahead of us and we’re incredibly impressed by what we have got so far.”
The judges said: “Dominic and Zoë’s unabashed enthusiasm, passion and total clarity of business vision won out for them on the day. They are now ready to take the business to the next level and it was felt that they achieved the ideal balance of being most deserving and would also benefit most from the prizes on offer.”
