THE creators of a sensory garden for four young men with autism in York are appealing for help in finding materials.

United Response, a charity which supports people with learning disabilities, mental health needs or physical disabilities to live in the community, hopes to create the garden at its home in Huntington Road.

Dean Theaker said it is appealing for any materials which may be useful in creating the garden for the men, who are aged from 18 to 26. He thanked Jewsons and Bretts Paving for the paving slabs they had already donated.

He said: “The young lads are crying out for a sensory garden. They like to go in the garden and a sensory garden would be really beneficial for them.”

Anyone with materials which may be of use should phone 07876 502274.
