HUNDREDS of pupils from schools in North Yorkshire got into the festive spirit at the annual Ainsty Carol Concert.
Tadcaster Grammar School hosted the event which saw primary school pupils joining forces with the secondary school’s concert band and vocal group to perform a selection of carols.
Each school presented its own programme, culminating in the singing of Slade’s Merry Christmas Everybody.
Schools attending included St Joseph’s RC, Riverside and Tadcaster East, all from Tadcaster, Appleton Roebuck and St Mary’s, Askham Richard.
Sam Buckley, of Tadcaster Grammar School, said: “The atmosphere in the hall was wonderful with all getting into the festive mood wearing Santa hats and reindeer antlers.
“The primary schools certainly gave us a varied selection of carols and showed that they have some talented youngsters.”
