A TEENAGE driver has been injured after her car overturned on a North Yorkshire bypass.
The crash happened at 7.20pm yesterday on the A658 outside Knaresborough, near the St James Retail Park roundabout. A red Suzuki Swift driven by an 18-year-old woman was heading towards the shopping centre when it came off the road onto the grass embankment and flipped over.
Firefighters cut the teenager out of the car and she was taken to Harrogate District Hospital with slight injuries. The crash meant queues of traffic in the area until about 9pm and North Yorkshire Police has appealed for witnesses, saying officers believe the Suzuki may have been overtaking another car at the time and its driver stopped at the scene and spoke to the woman, but left before police arrived.
