I SEE from The Press of November 23 that the conversion of Fulford Methodist Church to offices is now complete.
I belonged to the few remaining members who worshipped there and sadly but reluctantly decided to close. When the office workers enter the old chapel I would like to think they occasionally pause to think of all the people who in the past 120 years worshipped there.
The happy times children and adults singing, Sunday school anniversaries, carol and Easter services, marriage and baptisms – my granddaughter, Summer, being the last child baptised there. There were also the sad times when relatives and friends gathered to say goodbye to loved ones. I hope they remember why it was built and respect it for that reason.
