HORSE owners near Selby have been urged to remain vigilant after thousands of pounds-worth of horse-riding equipment was stolen in a spate of burglaries.
Two properties in Gateforth and Burn were broken into between Tuesday, October 16, and Thursday, October 18, with saddles, bridles and a brow band worth a total of £9,000 taken, along with a blue and silver mountain bike.
PCSO Laura Simpson said: “As well as making sure that this valuable equipment is locked in a secure building, preferably at home, I advise owners to have it stamped with their postcode and register the details with immobilise.com.”
