SCARBOROUGH Open Air Theatre will step back in time on August 1 to present six acts from the Eighties and Nineties
Rick Astley will be returning to the East Coast for a second summer, joined by Sinitta, ABC, Go West, Five Star and Undercover for a show introduced by former BBC Radio 1 and Top Of The Pops presenter Pat Sharp.
Astley holds the record for being the only male solo artist to have his first eight singles reach the Top Ten in Britain and by 1993 he had sold 40 million records; Sinitta is best known for So Macho; and Sheffield's ABC, led by Martin Fry, recorded one of the great debut albums of all time, 1982's The Lexicon Of Love.
Go West, a partnership between Peter Cox and Richard Drummie, had hits with We Close Our Eyes, Call Me and King Of Wishful Thinking and released their first studio album in more than ten years, Future Now, in 2014.
Five Star have been performing together for 31 years, selling ten million records worldwide, despite never having toured outside Britain; Undercover had hits with covers of Gerry Rafferty's Baker Street and Andrew Gold's Never Let Her Slip Away.
Tickets cost £35 online at scarboroughopenairtheatre.com and scarboroughspa.co.uk or on 01723 383636.
