'BIRD on a Wire' is a contemporary textile exhibition showing at the Studio Gallery in Scarborough.
Mixed media artist Marion Atkinson based the exhibition on memories and images from her childhood growing up in the wilds of the North York Moors.
"My father was a gamekeeper so I grew up surrounded by dead birds in one form or another," she said.
"It was a piece of black silage plastic caught up on thorns that inspired the work, bringing back memories of rooks and crows hanging from barbed wire - hence the use of plastics and wire within the pieces; and the colour choice being predominantly black.
'Bird on a Wire' is on at The Studio Gallery. 5 Belle Vue Parade. Scarborough, until July 13. Opening times are Thursday to Sunday 11am - 4pm.
