TELEVISION superheroes Numberjacks are switching from the BBC to the stage in 2011, starting their debut tour at the Grand Opera House, York, on September 6 and 7.

As the Numberjacks leave the sofa and embark on their first live adventure, audiences are invited to help them solve problems. Watch out for the dastardly Numbertaker and Spooky Spoon, however, because they will do all they can to disrupt proceedings.

After five years on BBC2 and Cbeebies, one of the creators of Numberjacks, Chris Ellis, has created this stage show to further the ethos of learning developed within the TV series.

The television show acts as a building block for young children, helping them to learn about numbers, shapes and sizes through the deeds of the ten animated Numberjack superheroes, who solve problems for their special-agent counterparts when faced by any one of five Meanies.

“We know that Numberjacks fans love to engage with the characters and the live show will really give them the opportunity to do just that,” says Chris.

The show is suitable for children aged two to five.

Performances will start at 2.30pm on September 6 and 11am and 2.30pm the next day. Box office: 0844 871 3024 or grandoperahouseyork.org.uk
