TWO new plays from the Stephen Joseph Theatre's lunchtime season in Scarborough change location and meal time today.
Nick Warburton's Purvis and Alison Watt's Storm In A Tea Chest will be staged this evening at The Band Room, Low Mill, Farndale, where the Scarborough company first visited last year.
Programme booker Nigel Burnham explains how he added theatre to the roster of music shows at the 100-capacity moorland hall, near Kirkbymoorside. "The Stephen Joseph Theatre is coming because I'm a big fan of Alan Ayckbourn's work there. I go to Scarborough as often as possible and invited the company to come here last year, which they did and had a great time doing Moby Dick. So they wanted to come back."
Elaine Claxton and Tim Frances star in Purvis; Elaine performs the second play with Rina Mahoney and both shows are directed by Tamara Harvey.
Doors open at 7.30pm; tickets cost £8 on 01751 4329007 please check availability. Further performance at Helmsley Arts Centre on Thursday at 7.30pm; tickets £10, concessions £9, on 01439 771700.
