FOR one night only at the Robinson Institute, in Glaisdale, York poet and folk musician Tony Morris performs the world premiere of Two Shows In One on Thursday at 8pm.
The first show, Iron Rush, is a piece of improvised theatre with chat, songs and stories in which the remarkably preserved Tom Lennard, a 150-year-old ironstone miner now in retirement in Whitby, tells people of today about the men and women of the Great North Yorkshire Ironstone Rush of the 1850s to 1900.
In the second show, Most Requested, Tony presents some of his most popular songs, poetry and music from his resident slot on BBC Radio York's folk show with lyre, bowed psaltery and native American flute accompaniment. Tickets: £4, concessions £2, from Glaisdale Village Shop, online at www.tonymorrispoet.com or on 01947 603757 or 01904 413381.
