IMPRESARIO Ellen Kent and Ballet International are touring Britain with a new production of Coppelia, visiting the Grand Opera House, York, for performances at 7.30pm on February 2 and 2.30pm and 7.30pm on February 3.
Performed by the Russian Classical Ballet Theatre with a live orchestra, the ballet stars Kristina Terentieva, winner of the 2007 Grand Prix International Dance Competition at Vienna 2007, and her husband Alexi Terentiev.
Delibes’s Coppelia is a fantastical tale of an eccentric toy maker and his amazing creations, especially a magical life-like doll.
“It’s a delightful story told with a kaleidoscope of colours, exquisite elegance and breathtaking technique,” says Ellen. “This love story is full of wonderful characters and charming humour and offers the perfect balance of entertainment for the whole family.”
Tickets cost £13.50 to £31.50 on 0844 847 2322.
