SOMETHING is rotten in the musical state of Denmark in the latest Shakespeare 4 Kidz show, Hamlet, at the Grand Opera House, York, next Friday.

The award-winning British theatre company specialises in fun-filled musical adaptations of the classic Shakespeare stories, this time turning its attention to the tragic tale of Shakespeare's student prince.

Prince Hamlet has returned home to attend his father 's funeral and witness his mother 's marriage to his Uncle Claudius, who has now become king.

When Hamlet meets the ghost of his dead father, he sets out on a mysterious story of murder, intrigue and revenge, all the while trying to prove once and for all that his uncle killed the king.

The production is suitable for those studying Shakespeare at Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3.

Tickets for the 10.30am performance cost £13.50 for adults, £8.50 for children, on 0870 606 3595 or online at www.GrandOperaHouseYork.org.uk
