YORK Light invite members and auditionees to an introductory evening for their next production, Godspell, hosted by director Hilary Dyson on Tuesday night.
Prospective new members should be prepared to audition at the end of the evening and, if possible, bring sheet music for a song of their choice at the 7.30pm gathering at Lidgett Grove Methodist Church, Lidgett Grove, off Boroughbridge Road. Please note, the minimum age to join the company is 16.
Godspell, the 1970 rock musical composed by the writer of Wicked and Pippin, Stephen Schwartz, will be performed at Upstage Centre, 41 Monkgate, York, from June 23 to 27.
York Light’s present show, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s South Pacific, runs at York Theatre Royal until Saturday at 7.30pm nightly plus a 2.30pm matinee on the last day. Box office: 01904 623568 or at yorktheatreroyal.co.uk
