ONE OF the UK’s largest annual theatre festivals is moving to Harrogate next year, and organisers hope it will bring a boost of £1million to the local economy.
Organisers of the 21st International Gilbert & Sullivan Festival signed a contract yesterday to bring the three-week spectacle to Yorkshire in 2014, with an option to extend the deal. Festival-goers generate an estimated £1.25million for local businesses and spend an average of £330 during their stay.
