VERDI's best loved opera will be brought to life in all its tragic glory in Prestatyn and Llandudno Junction this month.

Richard Eyre's stunning production of La Traviata opera for the Royal Opera House will screen live to the Prestatyn Scala and Cineworld Llandudno.

Adapted from Alexandre Dumas' novel and play La Dame aux camélias, La Traviata follows Alfredo Germont and his love affair with the terminally ill courtesan Violetta Valéry.

Determined to cure Violetta of her tuberculosis, the couple leave Paris and begin a contented life in the country. But Violetta's happiness is destroyed when Alfredo's father Giorgio Germont pays her a visit.

With such unforgettable pieces as "Libiamo ne' lieti calici" - known as The Brindisi or 'The Dirnking Song', this is a truly unmissable chance to catch a truly classic opera.

La Traviata screens at both cinemas on Wednesday, January 30 at 6.35pm.

Tickets for the Scala are £15, available by clicking here, and £18.80 for Cineworld available here.
