MILLEGRO, the York community choir, has a new concert booked for the end of the month.
On Saturday, September 24, at 7.30pm, Millegro will appear at the Joseph Rowntree Theatre, Haxby Road, York, in A Grand Night For Singing.
The 70-strong group of professional and amateur singers continues will perform music including Eric Whitacre’s 5 Hebrew Love Songs, excerpts from Fiddler On The Roof, Karl Jenkins’ The Armed Man and This Land Of Ours, alongside Astor Piazzolla Tangos, Manhattan Transfer and arrangements of jazz, folk and spirituals.
The choir performs under the direction of Ewa Salecka and with pianist Greg Birch. Joining Millegro on stage for this concert will be Hungarian viola player Timea Kerekes.
