The Lemonheads will perform their classic if rather short 1992 album It’s A Shame About Ray from start to finish at the Cockpit in Leeds on Friday, December 2.

Band founder Evan Dando will be accompanied on stage by guitarist Josh Lattanzi, from The Candles, and drummer Brian Nolan, from American Hi-Fi.

On the original album, The Lemonheads’ second for Atlantic Records, singer and guitarist Dando breezed through 12 songs in just under 30 minutes with bassist and backing singer Juliana Hatfield and drummer David Ryan.

The past year has seen Dando and Hatfield reuniting for acoustic dates in the United States, but she will not be in the Lemonhead line-up over here.

Presumably Dando will add more Lemon zest to the show, however, by bolting on further Lemonheads favourites after the speeding thrill of the main attraction.

Look out later this year for Edsel’s release of a collector’s edition of the album with bonus tracks and a DVD.
