THE Good Friday three-band special at the Howden Shire Hall features Copasetic, Vinnie & The Stars and I Swim With Sharks at 7.30pm tomorrow.

Copasetic formed in early 2009, initially intending to put together a couple of sets of reworked Sixties’ rocksteady hits. Their own material began to take over, however, leading to their first ska/punk EP release last summer, since when frontman Benj has further diversified their sound.

Local heroes Vinnie & The Stars are led by Craig “Vinnie” Whitehead, who started out as a solo acoustic artist but soon was asked to perform with a full band, resulting in the release of their debut album Swings And Roundabouts.

Now whittled down to a permanent line-up of three members, Vinnie’s band have introduced “something fresh” into their 2011 shows, adding a sample-based electronic twist to their blues, funk, hip-hop, soul and acoustic instrumentation.

Leeds three-piece I Swim With Sharks issue their first single of 2011, Just Be Good, on Monday and are putting together their debut album of “rock-smothered aggro pop” for release in October.

Tickets for The Good Friday are available at £5 from Touchwood Homecare Howden or on 01430 431535 or online at howden-live.com
