VIRTUOSO guitarist, composer and choreographer Juan Martin leads a night of music and dance with his Flamenco Dance Ensemble at the Grand Opera House, York, on February 6.
Direct from Spain, the show features the macho dance of Salvador Moreno (El Tigre) and the dark and moody flamenco moves of Raquel de Luna.
This will be the only Yorkshire show of Martin’s tour, part of a busy start to the year for the guitarist named among the top three in the world by Guitar Player magazine.
On March 2, his 1985 album, Solo, will be issued on CD for the first time by Flamenco Vision.
Faber, meanwhile, has released a re-edited version of his tutorial for the flamenco guitar, La Guitarra Flamenca, which comes with a DVD, and Mel Bay is soon to put out a new book of transcriptions of four of Martin’s pieces from The Andalucian Suites. A DVD of Martin’s flamenco ensemble, Live In Istanbul, will be on sale at the York show.
