WHEN York's Britpop titans Shed Seven disbanded in 2003, a dozen people witnessed drummer Alan Leach's only attempt at stand-up comedy...until now.

Look in the Great Yorkshire Fringe festival programme, and there, in the Comedy section, you will find Alan Shed's "Music, Comedy & Everything Else" Interactive Quiz Show.

Quizzing these details further, you discover this is a preview for an Edinburgh Fringe run as Shed Seven's somersaulting drummer turned pub quiz host "tries his hand at comedy" for a second time.

"It'll be funny, even if it isn't" says the poster, and so many people are curious to see how drummer boy Alan goes down on the good barge Selby Tony on Friday (July 26) that a second show at the White Rose Rotunda, in Parliament Street, has been added for Saturday afternoon.

The first 8pm gig has sold out at The Arts Barge's new riverside home, moored by Tower Gardens in York. Tickets for Saturday's 4pm show are available on 01904 500600 or at greatyorkshirefringe.com to discover the comic schtick of the Sheds' sticksman.
