ECHO & The Bunnymen's 12th studio album, The Stars, The Oceans & The Moon, will "offer a set of new perspectives on one of the most majestic back catalogues of modern times".
Released on October 5 on BMG, it will feature the Liverpool band's 21st century versions of 13 Bunnymen classics, including Rescue, The Killing Moon and Nothing Lasts Forever, re-recorded with "synths and strings and things". Two "timeless" new songs, The Somnambulist and How Far?, will make their debut too.
The album will be available as a double picture disc, from the Bunnymen's online store only; on luminous double vinyl, from HMV and independent shops only; standard double heavyweight vinyl; cassette; CD and all digital platforms. Pre-orders can be made at bunnymen.tmstor.es/
Ian McCulloch and co will play the new arrangements for the first time on a six-date May and June tour, whose nearest show to here will be at Sage, Gateshead, on May 30.
