WEAR Valley pianist Catherine E. Holbrook will perform a solo programme of her own compositions to stir the soul in the York Unitarians’ Last Fridays concert on September 29 at 12.30pm.
Born and raised in the North East, Catherine studied piano with Stephanie Cant at the University of York and, after graduating in 2003, she stayed on to gain a masters degree in community music with distinction.
She is passionate about sharing her love of music and directs an open access All Seasons Orchestra in York. Her lunchtime programme, Daybreak, is inspired by artist Paul Klee’s concept of taking a line for a walk: the pieces emerge organically. Playing very much from the heart, she refers to her works as piano prayers.
Tickets for this St Saviourgate Unitarian Chapel concert cost £6, concessions £4 on the door.
