MARTINE is now a regular panellist on ITV’s daytime magazine Loose Women and had a high-profile starring role in Red Nose Day Actually.

Always a delight to see, she has a loyal fanbase who believe she has been Absent Without Leave for far too long. Indeed, Martine’s last album Musicality, a West End and Broadway themed collection, dates to 2002.

For her long-awaited return at 41, Martine has enlisted husband Jack McManus to produce and co-write the lion's share of the new songs. Many may remember Jack’s own wonderful album Either Side Of Midnight and his hit single Bang On The Piano.

Collectively, the McManus partnership has delivered a sterling set of easy on the ear and accessible traditional pop tunes. Say I’m Not Alone and Any Sign Of Life are the likeliest to receive radio airplay.

However, a perhaps unwise cover of Sting’s Every Breath You Take makes an awkward appearance. There's still a lot of love for “Our Tiff”, one of the most beloved characters from EastEnders, and it's wonderful to see her career reactivated.
