LUTE maker and player Din Ghani and sopranos Helen Atkinson and Marie Lemaire will perform works by Claudio Monteverdi, in celebration of the composer’s 450th anniversary, at Holy Trinity Church, Goodramgate, York, on June 9.
This early music concert by candlelight is presented by Britain's oldest building conservation charity, the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings (SPAB), in the 15th century church owned by the Churches Conservation Trust (CCT) in the centre of York.
CCT estate officer and SPAB guardian Rachel Morley will give an introduction to the church and its history before the 6.45pm concert. The ticket price of £16 includes a drinks reception after the performance; to book, email membership@spab.org.uk or call the SPAB on 0207 456 0901
