STEVE Steinman, the creative force behind the goth-horror musicals Vampires Rock and Vampires Rock – Ghost Train, has a new hit-packed jukebox musical on its way to York.

Iconic, The Show "delivers the best of the best soundtracks from some of the coolest and most iconic movies of all time" at the Grand Opera House on May 19 at 7.30pm.

Set in a future where movie theatres have all but disappeared, a magical cinema still stands, run by the dilapidated old usher Benson, who does his best to entice people to buy a ticket for the midnight screening and give them a night they will never forget.

Steinman promises a "full cast of amazing singers, dancers and a formidable band delivering some of the most recognisable music ever", featuring hits from Kill Bill, Batman, Pulp Fiction, Purple Rain, James Bond and Mad Max movies and many more besides.

"There'll be music from Queen, AC/DC, Tina Turner and Prince to name a few of the legendary performers who have made the movie soundtracks unforgettable, and it's all teamed up with an incredible stage set and awesome pyrotechnics," says the showman impresario. "It’s a show that will blow you away. So go ahead punk, make your day!"

Tickets cost £25.25 or £27.25 on 0844 871 3024 or at atgtickets.com/york
