POCKLINGTON Arts Centre has its place in the pages of Joan Armatrading's career history. It was there, in 2014, that Joan rehearsed and played the first night of her final world tour, a global trek that would take almost two years, cover four continents, from South Africa and Europe to North America and Australasia, and stretch to 235 gigs.

There were two novel elements to the shows: for the first time, Joan played solo, hence the album title Me Myself I, and for the first time too, she told accompanying stories about the songs and special moments through the years, illustrated with screen footage.

The resulting live CD (and DVD too) was recorded in October 2015 at the Barns Wolf Trap in Vienna, Washington DC, and aptly she opens with All The Way From America, her voice as powerful, warm and stirring as ever at 64.

Performing a set that spans rock, jazz and blues, her thrilling guitar playing comes to the fore when stripped of accompaniment on My Baby's Gone and Down To Zero.
