MANCHESTER cult band I Am Kloot will play the Grand Opera House in York for the first time on Tuesday, April 16.

Led by songwriter John Bramwell, the trio will be showcasing their sixth studio album, Let it All In, released in January on the Shepherd Moon label.

Bramwell and co made their unexpected, long overdue and utterly deserved breakthrough with 2010’s Mercury Music Prize-nominated Sky At Night, and this follow-up is again produced by Elbow’s Guy Garvey and Craig Potter, who know a thing or two about late-flowering success with their own north-western band.

Bramwell previewed a raft of these songs of regret and worry over what lies ahead in an intimate acoustic gig at Knaresborough’s Frazer Theatre last July. Now his earthly truths and heavenly melodies will be given instrumental colour in a band setting with Andy Hargreaves and Peter Jobson.

Tickets cost £18.50 on 0844 871 3024 or online at atgtickets.com/york
