THE Ambience Café Bar in York is launching a new series of Live Music Nights this month.
Proprietor Guy Whapples will be hosting the monthly evenings of live acoustic music and an American-themed tapas buffet in the intimate setting in Gillygate.
Artists booked for the 7.30pm shows are British Country Music Award nominee Gary Quinn on Saturday night; singer-songwriter Maria Jordan, March 16; bluegrass artist Lynne Butler, April 20; and Americana artist Tokyo Rosenthal from the USA, May 18.
Gary Quinn opens the series this weekend, one week before he performs at the CMA Songwriters’ Series in Belfast. “I’m delighted to be involved in the launch of this new series of Live Music Nights at Ambience,” he says. “It’s a great opportunity for me to showcase my own brand of original country music.”
Guy adds: “I’m really looking forward to hosting live music in our café bar. We hope the mix of our locally-sourced food and acoustic-music performers will become a highlight of the monthly calendar in York.”
