Veteran Robert Redford's tour-de-force All Is Lost, a demanding and near-silent drama of a man battling to save his crippled sailing boat and his own life, also opens as does Ben Stiller’s reworking of The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty, James Thurber’s short story about a meek, office-bound fantasist.
Director Stiller takes the title role, supported by Kristen Wiig and Sean Penn.
