WORK by artists from more than 30 art schools has gone on display at a gallery in York.
The 53 Degrees North exhibition at the New School House Gallery, in Peasholme Green, began on Saturday and runs until October 27, with some of the more unusual pieces including an art installation by Lily Hawkes created from hundreds of bags of flour.
A judging panel has been running the rule over the pieces on display, selecting first, second and third prizes worth £250, £150 and £100, which were awarded at the opening ceremony.
A two-week residency at the gallery worth up to £500 is also up for grabs.
