ARTIST Joseph Hartley will be developing new work in ceramics, textiles and other media at the The New School House Gallery until Saturday.
The talented Manchester Metropolitan University undergraduate won the opportunity to showcase his skills at the gallery after competing with 53 other degree students at the 53 Degrees North exhibition in July.
He has since temporarily located from Manchester to York, and said he is “loving every second” of the chance to develop his work in a professional environment.
He was also excited to receive a visit from Richard Beighton, curator of the Modern Institute of Modern Art. Gallery owner, Robert Teed, said he was “extremely pleased” to have Joseph on board.
The public are invited to drop in and learn more about Joseph’s creative practice, with a chance to make a ceramic piece of their own. There will be an artist’s talk on Saturday at 2pm.
