ARTWORK created as part of a community scheme in York will be unveiled next week.
The Discus Arts Project works with local artists and residents from the three Discus bungalows sites in the city to create pieces which can be incorporated into the City of York Council-run properties.
The latest work, made with the help of local artist Suzi Tibbets, is a friendship quilt inspired by York poet W H Auden’s The Language of Friendship, and it will go on show on Monday at the St Anne’s site in Fishergate before being exhibited in Auden House.
Since the project started, members have set up an arts hub for the wider community, and plan to include Auden House as one of the venues displaying their work during the York Open Studios event in April.
The café in Auden House is also to be transformed into gallery space and the scheme is planning to develop a workshop programme.
