The talents of York’s actors, musicians, sculptors, dancers and artists will be on show tomorrow at an all-singing, all-dancing, free-of-charge celebration of community and voluntary arts in the city centre.

York’s second Fiesta festival will give residents and visitors the chance to participate in an array of creative groups, from drawing and photography to textiles and creative writing.

York Musical Theatre Company will perform songs from their 1940s’ show, When The Lights Go On Again; York Art Gallery will host two art groups; and York Settlement Players will read scenes from their next show, Alan Ayckbourn’s Joking Apart.

Other groups taking part will include Saxofun; York Songwriters’ New Singers, New Songs at All Saints Church, Pavement, from 11am to 1pm; the York Shakespeare Project; Yorchestra; York Writers; Return of The Artist; York Camera Club; Encuentro Latino; Shepherd Brass Band Beginners; York Youth Dance Company; and Doodle Manifesto, who will begin a doodle, pass it on and see what happens.

Fiesta guides and maps can be picked up from any York library. They will be available on the day in St Sampson’s Square.
