ARE you fed up with the depressing world news or with buying presents for everyone but yourself, asks Ann Petherick, owner of Kentmere House Gallery in York?
“January is the time for treating yourself,” says Ann, whose latest exhibition of original art by nationally known artists at prices that “won’t frighten a bank manager” will run until January 29.
“You can even supplement your Christmas gift money with a loan from the Own Art scheme: no interest, no deposit and no hassle,” she says.
On show are subtle Yorkshire landscapes by Richard Hatfield; witty family scenes by Susan Bower; semi-abstract landscapes by the late Jack Hellewell; seascapes by John Thornton and more besides.
Exhibition opening times are 6pm to 9pm every Thursday and at other times by arrangement on 01904 656507.
