ONLY one week remains to see an exclusive exhibition of photographs of playwright Alan Ayckbourn to mark the finale of his artistic directorship of the Stephen Joseph Theatre in Scarborough.
Alan Ayckbourn: Seen And Unseen features 50 images from throughout Sir Alan’s life and career, many of them never previously exhibited in public.
Drawn from Sir Alan’s personal collection and the Stephen Joseph Theatre’s portfolio of photographs, the exhibition in the theatre gallery depicts Alan Ayckbourn from childhood to his latest play, Awaking Beauty.
Both the world premiere and exhibition will run until January 17. The SJT gallery is open Monday to Saturday, 2pm to 6pm, except during performances. Admission is free.
Sir Alan will stand down from his post at the end of March after 36 years but will continue to write and direct plays for the SJT.
