WHITBY artist Kate Smith will be on hand at this evening's launch of exhibition at Village Gallery, Colliergate, York, from 5pm to 8pm. Refreshments will be served.
Kate, an Art& Raw Talent finalist in 2018, works mainly in oils applied with a palette knife. "Her exaggerated use of colour and thick layers of paint help to build-up light and texture in her work," says gallery owner Simon Main.
"This technique has become a fundamental aspect of her style, along with a love of craftsman-built traditional fishing boats that are the subjects of much of her present work."

Tickets for this evening's preview can be acquired from Simon at the gallery or by phoning him.
