LANDSCAPE and seascape oil paintings by Whitby plein-air artist Hilary Thorpe go on show at Simon Main's Village Gallery, in Colliergate, York, from Friday.
The gallery exhibits 2D and 3D works by Yorkshire artists in back-to-back shows that run for six weeks, as well as selling antique, "less old" and new art, crafts, ceramics, glass, jewellery, sculpture and silver.
Alongside Thorpe's paintings, Village Gallery has work for sale by York batik artist Rebecca Mason, such as scarves, ties, brooches and pictures; York plein-air artist Malcolm Ludvigsen and Kirkybymoorside artist/photographer Heather Tabor. Turned wood bowls and vases by Ralph Shuttleworth, from Holmfirth, limited-edition bronze sculptures by Edward Waites and limited-edition prints by illustrator Frank Vernon Martin (1921-2005) feature too.
Tickets for this evening's exhibition preview, when Hilary Thorpe, Rebecca Mason and Ralph Shuttleworth will be present from 5pm to 8pm, are available from Simon Main at Village Gallery or on 07972 428382 or 01904 411444.
