NEW work by favourite artists on the roster at the Blake Gallery, in York, is on show for the summer season until August 31.
Paintings by Diane Thornton, Tom Wanless, Walter Holmes, Ian Layton, Piers Browne, Douglas Gray and Michael Smart share exhibition space with sculpture and ceramics by Sally Arnup, Ben Arnup, Denise Dutton and Jill Moger.
Tony Brummell Smith, an artist familiar to collectors in Harrogate, will be exhibiting at the Blake Gallery for the first time. His latest collection was inspired by visits to Zanzibar and Italy and depicts beautiful landscapes, sleepy villages and tranquil coastlines in bold and vibrant pastels.

"Although I've been out painting the North York Moors for this exhibition, I did take time out for a cake or two at Bettys, " she says.
The Blake Gallery Summer Show, in Blake Street, York, is open from 10am to 5pm, closed Tuesdays, Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays.
