KENTMERE House Gallery owner Ann Petherick makes regular forays to discover artists from around the country who have never shown in York.
Michael Cooper is one such painter, and his work will be on show at the Scarcroft Hill gallery from this weekend until July 26.
He lives in Ann's home town of Lewes, in East Sussex, and she has known him for some years.
"Michael is a genuine professional who lives for his work, " she says. "He's a member of the foremost national artists' society, the New English Art Club (NEAC) and exhibits nationally, and I'm now bringing a small amount of his work to York for the first time."
Prices range from £400 to £1,500, and the exhibition will be open tomorrow, Sunday and July 7 and 8, 11am to 5pm; every Thursday evening, 6pm to 9pm; and any other time by arrangement on 01904 656507.
