DUNCAN Oakley tops Saturday's Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club bill at The Basement, City Screen, York.
Joining him in the 8pm line-up will be Tom Wrigglesworth and Big Lou, introduced by master of ceremonies Damion Larkin.
"One man funny machine" Oakley has musical skills that would easily fit into a rock band as he performs a mix of musical comedy and stand-up with an eye and ear for the silly, rude, playful and downright irritating occurrences of life.
"Duncan musters up songs that not only make you laugh, they also bury into the recesses of your mind and find you a humming tune with a smile on your face three days later, confused and wondering where it’s come from," says promoter Larkin.
Wrigglesworth is the star and creator of the BBC Radio 4 show Tom Wrigglesworth’s Open Letters and has appeared on BBC Three’s Russell Howard’s Good News.
Big Lou offers a modern twist on old-school joke telling. "He's like a cross between Les Dawson and Jimmy Carr but with more of Dawson's down-to-earth charm and none of Carr’s smugness," says Larkin.
Doors open at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £17 at lolcomedyclubs.co.uk or £20 on the door.
