THE York Unitarians' Last Fridays lunchtime concert series welcomes the "young but astonishingly mature" Mousai Quartet tomorrow at 12.30pm.

The “Mousai” (Muses) were the Greek Goddesses of music, song and dance. In turn, the quartet named after them was formed at the Royal Academy of Music, London, in January 2018 by Caroline Heard and Imogen Brewer, violins, Katie Le Feuvre, viola, and Rebecca Bradley, cello.

Caroline, Katie and Rebecca have just graduated; Imogen has one more year to go. Last year they performed Debussy works at a Last Fridays concert; tomorrow they will play Smetana’s first quartet, From My Life, and Shostakovich’s five-movement Quartet No 3.

Last Fridays concerts take place at St Saviourgate Unitarian Chapel, the Grade II listed chapel opened in 1693.Tickets cost £5 on the door.
