A SIX month programme starting this summer at the University of York is designed to encourage former nurses in North Yorkshire to return to the profession.

Clare Clarke, programme leader, from York’s Department of Health Sciences, said: “The programme provides returners with a flexible approach to fit in with their family life and individual circumstances.

“The course starts with a five-day study workshop and then involves attending one seminar per month.”

Students are also expected to complete 200 hours clinical practice in an allocated practice setting over a period of six months.

Successful applicants will have their course fees paid in full by the NHS. For further information email dohs-ssprd@york.ac.uk, telephone 01904 321620 or visit tinyurl.com/ncqx5hn
