THREE people charged in connection with the murder of York man Mark Webb have appeared in court together for the first time.

Brian Cox, 29, of no fixed address, is accused of murdering the 40-year-old father-of-five, of Cornlands Road, Acomb, on March 4 this year.

Mr Webb’s widow Susan, 30, of Middleton Road, Acomb, is charged with perverting the course of justice by interfering with the police investigation into her husband’s death, as is Dawn Heather Coates, 49, of Acomb.

At Leeds Crown Court, Judge Jennifer Kershaw QC adjourned their cases until July 1, when all three will be expected to enter their pleas.

Cox was remanded in custody and the two women were released on conditional bail. A trial has been listed for October 17 at Leeds.

Mr Webb died in hospital on March 4 after he was found in Middleton Road with a neck injury.
