IN association with Explore York Library’s Big City Read 2018 programme of events,York Cemetery will be presenting two talks on the History of York Cemetery.

The talks, held in the chapel, will be followed by a walk in the Victorian section of the cemetery visiting amongst others things three Grade II Listed monuments and the catacombs.

The first talk will be held on Saturday, October 27 and will be repeated on Sunday, October 28. Please arrive by 1.45pm on both days to be kitted up with the audio system. The talks will start at 2pm prompt and will be followed by tea and biscuits.

The talk and walk is wheelchair friendly except for the visit to the catacombs. Sensible stout footwear is recommended. Assistance dogs only are welcome. There is limited parking in the cemetery. A suggested donation of £3 would be appreciated.
