It’s recently been mentioned that all elderly motorists involved in an incident will be required to take an on-the-spot eye test requiring them to be able to read a number plate from 20 metres.

But what about other miscreants: the people whose vision is restricted by smoke or worse still e-cigarettes, the people who drive while the car is misted over or the vehicle frozen?

What about the people whose senses are dulled by loud music or verbal interruption?

Will they be required to take a hearing test?

How often do you observe people in traffic completely unaware of things, flashing light or sirens, with no idea of spatial awareness?

Why stop at the elderly?

Discretion is what’s required in the modern police.

I don’t like what this country’s turning into

I DO not see why, when I show affection towards a woman, I should have it classed as a hate crime.

And I would like to know the fool who made the human body X certificate.

When I was a lot younger the male was classed as noble and the female beautiful, and they used to have beauty contests at the swimming baths.

I do not like what this country is turning into.
