Because I have not allowed myself to be dragged into the 21st century I am now a second class citizen, according to some.
This comes about because I don’t owe anyone a penny piece, and I am unable to order anything online because I have no computer.
The only thing modern I possess is a mobile phone, and to prevent being an embarrassment to others, I switch it off when standing in queues. I certainly don’t walk down the street yapping and texting with it in my hand. To the many others such as myself I wish them well. And not to worry: we’ll get by. If we have any sleepless nights it won’t be because we are expecting a visit from the bailiff.
